Introduction
A safety data sheet (SDS) communicates the hazards, safe handling, and regulatory classification of a substance, mixture, or preparation at the international level. Then at the national or sub national level, the regulatory requirements for product and/or product safety compliance pillar or a cornerstone of compliance for product manufacturers, importers or distributors, and/or sellers within the UK, EU, United States, Canada, Australia, and now it appears it’s also Australia. Phoenix Safety Consultants prepares and validates SDS for Amazon, e-commerce, and industrial products. We ensure compliance with REACH, CLP, OSHA HCS (29 CFR 1910.1200) and GHS (9th Revision), and the most current international standards and guidelines for product SDSs.
Regarding the studies of record as the sole regulatory and scientific integrity, all SDSs for Phoenix Safety Consultants are signed by certified professionals (CSP® CFPS® CMIOSH® PE®).
What Is an SDS and Why It Matters
A safety data sheet (SDS) is a 16-part legal regulatory document that provides vital safety, health, and environmental information about a product or material includes guidelines on the safe use, transport, storage, disposal, and compliance with laws on occupational and environmental safety.
According to the EU REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, and the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, the marketing of chemical and cosmetic mixtures that contains classified substances is requires having a compliant safety data sheet authoring services. In the United States, the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) requires SDSs be given to downstream users and retailers.
More than regulatory compliance considers an SDS as a legal declaration of identifying hazards, putting emergency procedures in place, and communicating risks to the company’s the obligation of the duty of care across the entire supply chain.
