What Is CPNP Product Notification?

The CPNP is the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal. The European Commission made it under Article 13 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. After Brexit and under the UK cosmetic regulatory compliance 2020, the UK CPNP or SCPN system also safeguards all cosmetic products. It is now managed by the Office for Product Safety and Standards or OPSS.

Why It’s Required

According to Article 13(1) of the EU Cosmetics Regulation, there are required notifications before a cosmetic product can be sold or advertised to the public. This is also the case in the UK and EU. It is illegal to sell or distribute a cosmetic product that has not been properly notified.
