Description
Rose and oud is the most durable pairing in Middle Eastern perfumery and one of the few accords that sells equally well in Gulf markets and European niche retail. Where our 1154 leads with sweetness, 1154 leads with the wood it is the drier, more serious of the two oud oils in this range.
Oud comes first here, not later: the opening is resinous and woody from the first seconds, with bergamot providing just enough lift to stop it feeling heavy on application. The heart is rose against saffron the saffron adds a leathery, slightly medicinal spice that is the signature of a traditional Arabian composition, and it is what makes this read as authentic rather than as a Western approximation of oud.
Amber and sandalwood close it out with a warm, creamy drydown that softens the wood without sweetening it. It holds up at high concentration, which makes it well suited to attar-style roll-ons and extraits where the drydown is the entire product.
