Description
Spice usually sits beneath a floral heart, in the base. Code 1136 puts cinnamon directly among the rose and jasmine, and the warmth arrives with the flowers rather than after them which gives this a richness most feminine florals do not have.
Orange and neroli open it sunny and honeyed, both from the bitter orange tree, so the entry is coherent rather than merely bright.
Rose, jasmine and cinnamon form the heart. The cinnamon is the departure dry sweet heat sitting inside a classical floral bouquet rather than underneath it. It gives the roses a glow and stops the composition being simply pretty.
Sandalwood, vanilla and tonka bean close it warm and creamy. The result is a floral that reads as autumnal and comforting rather than fresh and spring-like, which is a useful position to occupy in a feminine range.
