Description
Violet leaf is not violet flower. It is green, sappy and slightly metallic the smell of crushed stems rather than petals and it appears in no other oil in this catalogue. Against cardamom, it gives this eau de parfum a freshness that feels more natural and unusual than a standard citrus opening.
Cardamom and violet leaf open it, with cardamom bringing warmth and brightness while violet leaf adds a cool, cucumber-like green character. Sage, lavender and cinnamon form the heart, creating an aromatic-spiced transition that gives the fragrance more structure than simpler fragrance oils.
Vanilla, tonka bean and amber close it warm and sweet. The contrast between the green opening and rich drydown makes it long lasting and distinctive, with enough depth for everyday wear or special occasions.

Questions about this oil
What is the difference between violet and violet leaf?
Violet flower is powdery and sweet. Violet leaf is green, sappy and slightly metallic the smell of crushed stems rather than petals. They behave completely differently in a composition.
How does it compare with 1041?
Both have a sage-lavender-cinnamon heart and a vanilla base. 1041 opens cool and powdery with violet flower and mint; 1138 opens green and fresh with violet leaf and cardamom.
Is the green opening unusual?
Yes, and it is the reason to stock this. Violet leaf gives a natural, vegetal freshness that no citrus can replicate.
Is it suitable for grooming?
Yes the green-aromatic opening suits aftershave and shaving products particularly well.
Does cinnamon restrict the dosage?
Yes, in leave-on products. Work from your IFRA certificate for each category.
