Every finished perfume sold in the UK or EU needs a safety report, a product file and a notification. Our assessors already know this oil.
Description
Honey is one of the hardest notes in perfumery to use well too much and it can become sticky and animalic. Code 1036 approaches it differently by using beeswax in the base, creating a richer gardenia fragrance oil with texture rather than just sweetness.
Blood orange and honey form the opening, with blood orange adding a deeper, slightly berried citrus character that keeps the honey balanced. Gardenia and jasmine create the heart, producing a sweet floral scent where the white florals blend naturally with the warm honey character.
Caramel, patchouli and beeswax form the base, with beeswax adding a waxy, ambery and slightly smoky depth that gives the fragrance oil a more sophisticated drydown. A Safety Data Sheet should be maintained as part of the product documentation and compliance records.

Questions about this oil
Why is honey difficult to use in perfumery?
At high concentration it turns sticky and animalic. This composition keeps it in check with blood orange at the top and beeswax rather than more sugar in the base.
What does beeswax smell like?
Waxy, ambery and faintly smoky with a soft floral edge. It gives the drydown a texture that honey and caramel alone could not, and it is what makes this oil distinctive.
Is it a gourmand or a floral?
A floral with gourmand materials underneath. The gardenia and jasmine keep it reading as a perfume rather than a dessert.
Does it suit bath and body products?
Yes honey and beeswax are natural fits for body cream, bath products and lip care, where the association with skincare is an advantage.
Will it discolour?
Yes honey, caramel and beeswax materials are dark. Expect a golden-amber tint.
