Description
Boozy gourmands are some of the strongest gift-market fragrances because they instantly suggest an occasion. Code 1140 is the boldest in the range: dark rum, bitter chocolate and a rich coffee note, with just enough rose to keep the scent feeling composed rather than edible.
Rum and chocolate form the top notes, opening with a deep boozy rum character instead of the usual citrus. Coffee and rose create the middle notes, reinforcing the roasted bitterness while adding a plush floral lift. The overall main accords are warm spicy, gourmand and unmistakably adult, with a profile suited for women and men.
Sandalwood and sweet vanilla form the base notes, creating a creamy, cozy and warm dry down with very strong, long lasting performance. It works especially well as an eau de parfum, vanilla perfume, or winter fragrance for cold weather, particularly through fall and winter. Its powerful projection can even give it a “beast mode” feel, making it a strong option for gifting and candles.
Fragrance Notes:
| Stage | Notes | When you smell it |
|---|---|---|
| Top | Rum, Chocolate | First 5–15 minutes |
| Heart | Coffee, Rose | 15 minutes – 3 hours |
| Base | Sandalwood, Vanilla | From 3 hours |
Fragrance family: Boozy gourmand.
Character: Unisex, rich, warm, indulgent, winter and gifting.
Dosage: 15–20% in an alcohol-based eau de parfum lower than the range norm, as projection is strong; 0.5–2% in body cream and rinse-off.

Questions about this oil
Does the rum accord contain alcohol?
No. It is a perfumery reconstruction that smells of dark rum and molasses; the oil is alcohol-free like everything in the range.
Why is it good for gift ranges?
Boozy gourmands smell like an occasion, which is what a gift buyer is looking for. They also photograph and merchandise well in autumn and winter sets.
How does it compare with 1222 Honey Caramel?
1222 is sweeter and more floral, built on honey and praline. 1140 is darker and more roasted, built on rum, chocolate and coffee. 1222 for an everyday indulgent scent, 1140 for a statement or gift product.
Does it work in candles?
It is one of the best in the range for candles. Rum, chocolate and coffee all perform strongly when burned and suit autumn-winter ranges.
Should I use a lower dosage?
Yes 15–20% rather than the usual 20–25%. Projection is strong and overdosing makes it cloying.
