Description
Grapefruit is the sharpest and most energetic of the citrus materials, and against a sea-salt accord it produces the cleanest sport opening in the catalogue. Code 1213 is the second oil in our sport range, and it is drier and more mineral than 1070. As a grapefruit perfume, it has a crisp, bracing character from the first spray.
Grapefruit and sea salt open it bracing and saline. Grapefruit works as the dominant top note, with a bitter, slightly sulphurous edge that makes it more interesting than lemon and more durable in the first half hour. Bay leaf and jasmine in the heart are an unusual sport combination, with bay leaf adding a green, aromatic and faintly spicy character.
Guaiac wood, amber and patchouli finish it dry and smoky. That base is what separates 1213 from a commodity sport accord: it has a real drydown rather than simply fading. Stock 1070 and 1213 together 1070 for the classic citrus-vetiver sport profile, 1213 for a drier, more mineral one.

How does it differ from 1070 Sport Citrus Vetiver?
1070 is the classic sport profile orange, mint and sea salt over vetiver. 1213 is drier and more mineral, with grapefruit and guaiac wood. Stock both to cover the category properly.
Why grapefruit rather than lemon?
Grapefruit has a bitter, slightly sulphurous edge that makes it more interesting and more durable in the opening. Lemon fades faster and reads as cleaner but plainer.
