Description
Sport fragrances are usually light by convention, but Code 1040 takes a different direction by placing leather in the base. This gives the composition more masculine depth and longevity while keeping the energetic character expected from a sport fragrance.
Ginger and green apple form the opening, creating a sharp and energetic introduction. Sage and geranium build the heart with a green, aromatic character that provides a clean grooming-style backbone.
Virginia cedar, vetiver and leather create the base, with earthy vetiver adding depth and Virginia cedar bringing a dry, sharp woody tone. The leather foundation gives the drydown a weight that most sport fragrances lack, resulting in a fragrance that feels fresh at the top and more serious underneath. Claims such as vegan friendly and cruelty-free should only be used when supported by supplier documentation.

Questions about this oil
Why leather in a sport fragrance?
Sport fragrances are light and fade quickly. Leather in the base gives this one real weight and much better longevity, while keeping the energetic opening the category needs.
How does it compare with 1070 and 1213?
1070 is citrus and vetiver, 1213 grapefruit and guaiac both cleaner and lighter. 1040 is the most substantial of the three, and the only one with leather.
What is Virginia cedar?
A drier, sharper cedar than the usual variety. It adds precision to the base where ordinary cedar would be softer.
Is it suitable for gym and deodorant products?
Yes, and the longer drydown is an advantage there it holds through a workout better than a conventional sport accord.
Is ginger unusual in a sport fragrance?
Yes. Most open on citrus. Ginger gives dry heat instead of coolness, which is what makes the opening distinctive.
