Description
Ginger and cardamom are the two cleanest spices in perfumery neither carries the sweetness of cinnamon or the medicinal edge of clove. Code 1096 uses both, which makes it the clearest and most wearable spiced masculine in the catalogue.
Ginger and cardamom open it warm and bright at once. Ginger supplies dry heat, cardamom a slightly sweet, almost citrusy aromatic quality. Neither is heavy, so the opening has lift as well as warmth.
Iris and lavender form the heart cool powder against clean aromatic, a deliberate counterweight to the spice above. This is the part that keeps the composition refined rather than merely warm.
Tonka bean, amber and cedar close it. Tonka adds hay-sweetness, amber glow, cedar dryness. Well balanced throughout and free of the IFRA complications that cinnamon and clove bring a practical advantage if you are formulating across several product types.

Questions about this oil
Why ginger and cardamom rather than cinnamon?
They are the cleanest spices in perfumery no sweetness, no medicinal edge and they carry far fewer IFRA restrictions, which makes formulating across product types simpler.
How does it compare with 1131 Ginger Cedar?
Very close in character. 1131 uses white pepper in the heart where 1096 uses lavender, and 1131 has vetiver in the base. 1096 is slightly warmer, 1131 slightly drier.
Is it suitable for multiple product types?
Yes, and this is its practical advantage the absence of cinnamon and clove means fewer dosage restrictions across leave-on and rinse-off formats.
Is it strong?
Moderate and well balanced. It is a core-SKU fragrance rather than a statement one.
Does it contain declarable allergens?
Lavender and the spice materials carry some. The declaration lists each with percentages.
