Description
The usual leather-oud has oud in the heart and leather in the base. Code 1176 reverses it leather and amber arrive first, oud last and the fragrance is warm and hide-like before it turns resinous.
Bergamot and black pepper open it dry and bright. The pepper is doing the work here, adding a sharpness that sets up the leather rather than contrasting with it.
Leather and amber form the heart. Amber beside leather is a generous pairing it gives the hide a glow and stops it being austere, so the middle of the fragrance is warm and inviting rather than severe.
Sandalwood, patchouli and oud close it. The oud arrives gradually underneath the creamy sandalwood and earthy patchouli, deepening the composition rather than dominating it. Balanced and substantial a good flagship for a masculine range that wants both leather and oud without choosing.

Questions about this oil
How does it differ from 1093 Rich Leather Oud?
1093 has oud in the heart and leather in the base, with cypress keeping it open. 1176 reverses that leather first, oud last so it is warm early and resinous late.
Is it austere?
No. The amber beside the leather gives the heart a glow that keeps it inviting rather than severe. It is the warmest of the leather-ouds.
Which leather-oud should I stock?
1093 if you want it breathable and wearable, 1176 if you want it warm and substantial, 1028 if you want smoke and impact.
Is it suitable for beard products?
Yes, at 2–5%. Warm leather profiles sell well in beard oil and balm.
Will it discolour?
Yes leather, oud and patchouli are dark materials. Expect a deep amber tint.
