Description
Iso E Super is a distinctive aroma chemical rather than a traditional top, heart and base note composition. Usually supplied as a colourless liquid to colorless to pale yellow, it has a soft woody-amber profile with a smooth, skin-like character.
Within the fragrance family and odour family, it is valued for its subtle strength, high diffusion and ability to improve longevity without overpowering the original scent. It can be used alone as a minimalist fragrance or added to another composition as a supporting base material.
Its gamma isomer contributes strongly to the characteristic woody-amber effect. Because Iso E Super is a single material, it also offers excellent batch-to-batch consistency, making it useful for brands developing a reliable signature fragrance.

What does Iso E Super smell like?
Soft, woody and ambery with a velvety, suede-like quality. It is often described as skin-like because it seems to enhance the wearer's own scent rather than sit on top of it. It is subtle up close and diffuses widely, so people nearby often notice it more than the wearer.
Can I wear it on its own?
Yes. Worn neat it makes a minimalist single-material fragrance, which is an established category and one of the simplest products for a new brand to launch there is no accord to develop.
Can I add it to my existing fragrance formula?
Yes, and this is its most common use. At 5–15% it extends longevity and increases projection without changing the character of the composition. It is the standard fix for a fragrance that smells right but fades too quickly.
