Description copy
There are two ways to make a vanilla masculine: add spice, or add smoke. Code 1071 takes the second approach, using incense to cut through the sweetness and create a more refined fragrance notes profile.
Lavender and mint open it cool and aromatic, giving the fragrance a fresh grooming-inspired entry. Iris and tonka bean form the heart, with iris adding a powdery quality and tonka bringing almond-hay warmth that connects the cool opening with the vanilla base.
Vanilla, benzoin and incense close it. Benzoin reinforces the warm sweetness, while incense adds dry smoke and keeps the fragrance from becoming overly sweet. The contrast between creamy warmth and smoky depth is what keeps this composition interesting throughout the drydown.

How does it differ from 1124 Pepper Vanilla?
1124 makes vanilla masculine with black pepper and benzoin. 1071 does it with incense, which cuts the sweetness more completely. 1124 is spicier, 1071 smokier and more austere.
Is it still recognisably a vanilla fragrance?
Yes, but a dry one. The incense removes most of the sweetness while leaving the warmth.
Why lavender and mint at the top?
They give a cool, grooming-adjacent entry that signals immediately this is not a dessert fragrance.
Is it suitable for beard products?
Yes, at 2–5%. Smoky warm profiles perform well in beard oil and balm.
Is it long lasting?
