Description
Mint and vanilla have almost nothing in common one is cool and sharp, the other warm and sweet and putting them at opposite ends of a fragrance produces the widest development arc in this catalogue. What you smell at ten minutes and at four hours are barely the same product.
Mint, green apple and lemon open it cold and bracing. This reads entirely as a fresh fragrance and gives no indication of the sweetness underneath.
Tonka bean and geranium form the transition. Tonka is the bridge its hay-and-almond warmth starts pulling the composition toward the base while the geranium keeps a green thread running through.
Vanilla, cedar and vetiver close it warm and dry. The vetiver is important: without it the vanilla would make the drydown too sweet for the fresh opening to make sense. The arc from cold mint to warm vanilla is the entire point, and customers who test on a blotter and then wear it are often surprised.

Questions about this oil
Do mint and vanilla work together?
Not obviously, which is the point. They sit at opposite ends of the fragrance with tonka and geranium bridging them, and the arc from cold to warm is the most dramatic in the catalogue.
Will a customer testing on a blotter know what they are getting?
Probably not the opening reads as entirely fresh. Encourage skin testing for this one; it is a fragrance that rewards wearing rather than sniffing.
How does it compare with 1173 Aquatic Mint?
1173 stays cool throughout and is built for grooming. 1198 starts cool and ends warm, which makes it a perfume rather than a functional fragrance.
Is it long-lasting?
Good the vanilla, cedar and vetiver base is substantial.
Is it suitable for beard products?
Yes, at 2–5%. The fresh opening and warm drydown both suit the category.
What sizes and lead time?
100 g, 250 g, 500 g, 1000 g and 5000 g, shipped in 4–6 working days with IFRA certificate, allergen declaration and Safety Data Sheet.
