Every finished perfume sold in the UK or EU needs a safety report, a product file and a notification. Our assessors already know this oil.
Description
No lavender, no spice and no sweetness. Code 1055 is a six-material masculine woody profile built around a tart blackcurrant heart. This fragrance oil stands out in the fresh category because of its sharp, green character rather than a typical sweet citrus style.
Bergamot and grapefruit form the opening, creating a fresh citrus effect with a sharp and slightly bitter character. Pink pepper and blackcurrant make up the heart, where blackcurrant adds a tart, green and slightly sour edge that keeps the fragrance crisp and distinctive.
Cedarwood and vetiver form the base, creating a dry woody finish with no added sweetness. Clean, fresh and balanced, this profile also works well for applications such as diffusers and room sprays where a fresh woody atmosphere is desired.

Questions about this oil
What does blackcurrant add?
Tartness and a green, slightly sour edge bite rather than sweetness. It is what keeps this sharp where most fresh fragrances soften.
How does it compare with 1202 and 1058?
1202 has a tea and cypress heart and is more refined; 1058 is earthier through patchouli and benzoin. 1055 is the sharpest and driest of the three, with only six materials.
Is it too austere?
It is dry throughout with no warm drydown, which is deliberate. For something warmer, 1058 or 1164 are better choices.
Is it suitable for deodorant and shower gel?
Yes clean tart profiles work well in both.
Where else does blackcurrant appear?
In 1026 Cassis Vanilla, 1111 Mystic Jasmine Amber and 1216 Crisp Bergamot Musk.
