Description
White florals are normally softened with vanilla, musk or amber. Code 1009 takes a different approach fragrance oils built around tuberose and jasmine placed directly over vetiver and patchouli, creating the driest and greenest white floral profile in the catalogue.
Pear and orange blossom open the fragrance with a soft and honeyed introduction, creating a smooth transition into the floral heart. Tuberose and jasmine form the centre, bringing a rich, creamy and indolic floral character that gives the composition its intensity.
Vetiver and patchouli form the base, providing an earthy and dry contrast to the opulent white florals. Their lack of sweetness creates a green, stem-like quality that feels closer to fresh-cut flowers than a traditional sweet floral perfume. Frequently asked questions
Why is there no vanilla or musk in the base?
Their absence is the point. Vetiver and patchouli cut the richness of the tuberose and jasmine, giving the fragrance a green, stemmy quality closer to cut flowers than to perfume.
Is tuberose overwhelming here?
It is opulent, but the dry base holds it in check. This is the most restrained tuberose in the range.
How does it compare with 1021 and 1086?
1021 softens tuberose with pistachio and coconut; 1086 with almond and cocoa. 1009 does not soften it at all it contrasts it with earth. The most sophisticated of the three.
Who is the customer?
Someone who already knows and likes tuberose. It is not an entry-level white floral.
Is it strong?
Yes tuberose and jasmine project strongly. Use the lower end of the dosage range.
