Description
A fougère is the oldest structure in masculine perfumery lavender, herbs and mossy woods and it remains the backbone of grooming and barbershop products. Code 1088 is a modern fougère: the classic herbal heart with a marine opening and an ambered, incense-tinged base.
Bergamot and marine notes open it clean and airy, which is what updates the fougère structure for a contemporary customer. The heart is where the tradition sits: rosemary and lavender together produce that aromatic, faintly medicinal barbershop character, with patchouli underneath for earthiness.
The base is the most interesting part. Amber gives warmth, incense a dry smokiness, and oak a woody, slightly tannic dryness that stands in for the oakmoss of a traditional fougère useful, because oakmoss is heavily restricted under IFRA and a modern reformulation has to work around it.
Strong in aftershave, shaving cream, beard products and shower gel, where the herbal-woody profile is expected.

Why is the product called Floral Amber if there are no florals?
The original name in our catalogue was inaccurate the composition is marine, herbal and ambery with no floral notes. We have renamed it Marine Amber Fougère so the name matches what you are buying.

Does it contain oakmoss?
