Description
The complaint about citrus fragrances is that they vanish. Code 1058 answers it with benzoin a balsamic resin in the base that holds the composition together long after the orange and grapefruit have gone.
Orange, grapefruit and pepper open it bright and peppery. Three fast materials at once gives the top real presence, and the pepper adds a dryness that points toward the woods rather than away from them.
Geranium and patchouli form the heart. Patchouli this early is unusual it is normally a base material and it starts the earthy character before the citrus has fully faded which makes the transition seamless.
Vetiver, cedar and benzoin close it. Benzoin is the interesting one: a balsamic resin with a soft vanilla-like sweetness, and against the dry vetiver and cedar it adds warmth and holds the fragrance on skin for hours. A citrus fragrance with real staying power.

Citrus materials are light and volatile. The benzoin, vetiver and cedar base here holds the composition together for hours after the top notes have gone, which is unusual for the category.

How does it compare with 1202 Grapefruit Vetiver?
1202 has a tea and cypress heart and is more refined. 1058 is earthier and warmer through the patchouli and benzoin. 1202 for polish, 1058 for warmth.
