Every finished perfume sold in the UK or EU needs a safety report, a product file and a notification. Our assessors already know this oil.
Description
Juniper gives a fragrance a crisp, resinous, coniferous dryness that no citrus or marine note can reproduce. Code 1137 builds a clean woody around it, and the result suits winter, outdoor and Nordic-style brand positioning better than anything else in the range.
Bergamot and lime open it sharp and green. Lime is the sharper of the two citruses and it primes the palate for the juniper's own bitter, piney edge.
Juniper and iris in the heart is the interesting decision. Juniper alone would be austere bracing but a little bare and iris adds a cool powderiness that softens it into something wearable. The pairing is the reason this reads as a considered fragrance rather than a room spray.
Vetiver, cedar and amber finish it dry and grounded. There is no sweetness anywhere in the composition, which is unusual and is exactly the point: this is a clean, cold, outdoor fragrance, and the restraint is what gives it character.

Questions about this oil
What does juniper smell like?
Crisp, piney and resinous with a bitter, gin-like edge. It gives a dry, cold-air quality that no citrus or marine note can reproduce.
How does it differ from 1008 Fresh Gin Amber?
1008 uses juniper inside a gin accord with cardamom and amber, aiming for a warm botanical character. 1137 keeps the juniper clean and cold, with iris and cedar. 1008 is characterful, 1137 is austere.
What brand positioning suits it?
Outdoor, Nordic, winter and minimalist ranges. It is the one oil in the catalogue with no sweetness at all, which suits a restrained brand identity.
Does it work in candles?
Very well coniferous profiles are among the strongest winter and Christmas candle sellers.
Is it seasonal?
It peaks in autumn and winter, though it sells year-round in grooming and home fragrance.
