Description
Maninka is a West African fruit rarely seen in perfumery tart, slightly tropical, with a dry edge. Putting it in the heart of a leather fragrance is an unusual decision and it produces the sweetest, fruitiest leather in this catalogue.
Ginger and bergamot open it warm and sharp, the ginger supplying dry heat that leads naturally toward the leather rather than contrasting with it.
Maninka fruit and lavender form the heart. The fruit adds a tart, slightly exotic sweetness that is unlike any other leather in the range, and the lavender keeps the composition anchored in familiar masculine territory so the unusual material does not feel arbitrary.
Leather and tonka bean close it only two base materials, which keeps the drydown clean and legible. Tonka's almond-hay warmth softens the leather considerably, making this one of the more approachable leathers in the catalogue.
