What is maninka fruit?
A West African fruit rarely used in perfumery tart and slightly tropical with a dry edge. It is a genuine point of difference on an ingredient list and appears in no other oil in this range.
How does it compare with your other leathers?
It is the sweetest and fruitiest of the seven. 1218 is soft through violet, 1205 dry through thyme, 1048 warm and slightly fruity through maninka and tonka.
Is it approachable for someone new to leather fragrances?
Yes the tonka base softens the leather considerably, which makes this and 1218 the two easiest entry points.
Why only two base notes?
It keeps the drydown clean and legible. With leather and tonka alone, nothing competes with the two materials doing the work.
Is it suitable for beard products?
Yes, at 2–5%. Warm sweet-leather profiles perform well in beard oil and balm.
